Relax and enjoy the fine food, views and atmosphere of the Boatshed
Café built on the banks of the Huon River. The Cafe has
seating for 50 people and a balcony extending over the river is capable
of seating an additional 30 people. Pedal boats, aqua bikes and canoe
hire plus the nearby riverbank recreation facilities provide many
activities for visitors.
Being co-located with the Huonville Visitor
Information Centre at the centre of the Huon region, the
Café is ideally situated for morning tea, lunch or afternoon
tea stops for groups travelling the Huon Trail region or those
travelling further south. Ramps provide access for the elderly or
disabled.
The menu varies with the seasons from refreshing
salads in summer to home made soup in winter. A comprehensive range of
beverages, snacks and meals are available including cookies, Devonshire
teas, toasted sandwiches, quiche and salad, ploughmans' lunches and
smoked salmon salad.
Groups can be catered for by arrangement with the
lunch options including: Aussie bar-b-ques, spit roast, trout, crayfish
or chicken all served with salads and pasta dishes or choice Tasmanian
potatoes.
Coach groups are also welcomed for morning and
afternoon teas. An off-site catering service is available for groups
visiting Hastings Caves Reserve or the Tahune Forest Reserve.
