Jet boat ride in one package.
The Huon Jet / Mushroom Farm Tour package is
designed to cater for the needs of coach and group
tour markets. Operating for over 6 years this
package has proved to be extremely popular, in
particular with group tours from the Asian
region.
The package offered by Huon River Jet Boats Pty
Ltd in conjunction with Huon Valley Mushrooms,
combines an exciting jet boat ride through the
rapids and beauty of the Huon River with an
educational tour through the Huon Valley Mushroom
complex. Barbecued tastings of the wide variety of
mushrooms are provided on the large green lawns by
the banks of the Huon River. A jetty provides
access to the jet boats. Lunches can either be
provided at mushroom farm or at the Boatshed
Café.
Huon Valley Mushrooms has been in operation for
9 years growing white button and honey brown
mushrooms for the local market. A recent expansion
program has introduced the oyster and shitake
varieties for the export market.
The farm tour takes in the growing sheds,
composting plant and packing room and concludes
with a tasting of the different varieties grown at
the plant.
